Why “Ogden Resident”?
Over the years, I’ve often shown up at city council meetings to speak about things I believe matter to our community. And when you speak at those meetings, you’re asked to state your name and where you live. So, every time I approached the lectern, I’d use the introduction, “Heath Satow, Ogden Resident.”
Whenever the Standard-Examiner mentioned me in a story, they’d write “Ogden Resident Heath Satow.” My friends caught on and turned it into a running joke, calling me “Heath Satow, Ogden Resident” like it was my official title. It stuck. And honestly? I kind of love it.
When I decided to run for city council, I leaned into it — because it says exactly why I’m doing this. I’m not running to be a politician. I already have a job I love as a full-time professional artist. I have no plans to run for mayor, no secret dreams of congress. I just want to represent the people of this city, the way an Ogden resident should.
So sure — if I’m elected, they might call me Council Member Satow. But to my friends, my neighbors, and anyone who’s been to a council meeting, I’ll always be Heath Satow, Ogden Resident.
