About me
I’ve been a metal sculptor and business owner for over 35 years, known around the world for public art installations that make peoples lives just a little more enjoyable. But at the core, I’m a maker. I get my hands dirty. I fight gravity—real weight with real consequences—and have to solve complex, high-stakes problems where failure isn’t an option.
Running my business has meant balancing budgets, managing contracts, and coordinating with everyone from government officials to construction crews. I’ve worked with cities that were great to collaborate with—and some that weren’t. I’ve learned how good government works, and I’ve seen where it breaks down. That experience matters.
For the last seven years, I have attended almost every city council meeting and work session either in person or virtually. And when I couldn’t, I watched or listened to recordings of these meetings. I read all the information packets and follow all the issues. I didn’t just recently decide that I had an interest on how our local government functions.
You can see some of my projects on my website publicsculpture.com.
My most recent and ongoing projects can be seen on my Instagram page, @publicsculpture.
I also have a huge weakness for rescue dogs.
